     Weaving  Textile today is one of the cultural  heritage. It is an art form that stills practice in all regions of Thailand. Many of the ancient patterns and technical intricacy are still maintained, especially in the tribal communication they still preserve their unique characteristic today. We can categorize the group according to regions as follow;

     1. Fabric weaving in Northern Lan Na Thai  (Chieng Rai, Phayao, Lampun, Lampang, Phrae, Nan, Chieng Mai and Mae Hongsorn) where most people are Tai Yuan and Tai Lue who still preserve their weaving styles and patternt that have been passed down for generations such as Pha sin teen Chok, Pha Khit and the technique called Kho. There also are floral motifs silk tubular skirt for women the silk brocade with silver and gold thread include the unique style for each province: Pah Mor Hom in Phrae province and Pah lai nam lai in Nan province for example.

     2. Fabric making in The Lower Northern and Central Thailand (Phisanulok, Phichit, Udtaradit, Sukhothai, Uthaithani, Chainart, Supanbury, Sarabury, Lopbury, Nakornpathom, Rajabury and Petchabury) : The minority Tai group such Tai yuan,Tai lao sub- group: Phuan, So, Phutai, Khang  migrated to this area at the various times in the history. Each of these groups remains strong in preserving their culture. Women learnt technique of making Tin Chok fabric and Khit for decoration on the garments for ceremonial costume or using for bedding, pillows, blankets, handkerchiefs and Pha Khaoma.

     3. The Textiles of Isan (Northeast)
Tai Lao is the majority people who live in the Northeast Province of Thailand. The fabric woven is carried on among the women in every village. Each village, each ethnic group of  has a distinctive style and design of its own especially weft ikat skirts, Pha Prae Wa, Pha Khit, Pha Poom and classics Khmer design in silk weft.(Thai : Hang Krarok)

     4. Southern Thailand Textiles
The South is famous for the gold and silver brocade textiles with the ancient motifs such as Tai Rajawat, Lai Dok Pikul, Lai Lookkaew, Lai Kanyang and animal motifs. The popular locations for making the brocade are Nakonsrithamarat, Suratthani, Songkhla and Trang
.
